[nndl] Traffic Calming

I am so sorry for the loss of pets -- I have two cats that I care about
deeply, and I can only imagine how devastating it would be to have them
killed by a callous and indifferent driver.

I think some people believe the neighborhood association has done little
on the issue of traffic calming, but as traffic is a major theme in our
neighborhood plan, I've been pushing for traffic calming quite a bit
over the past few years.

[nndl] RE: [NNADL] Fed up with list serve

Oh heavy sigh -- it was getting so peaceful around here for a while. I
was really hoping the party Sunday night would have mended some fences.

Stephan, first let me encourage you to remain on this list -- yes it can
get unpleasant at times, but it is the best tool we have to keep people
informed, and I really do like to have varied perspectives in the
conversation. If you really can't stand it, let me know, and I'll get
you off the NNADL.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] [nlnpt] New Developers for Howards

Hi all

A speculation here: Could it be this new developer (Allen Cowden) got word
that Northfield Neighborhood Association voted down a variance request and so
decided to side-step the NNA thinking the whole NNA is not friendly to
developers. Perhaps they thought with a name like ilovenorthloop the group
group might be pretty friendly.

What an irony they would seek out the very people who were clearly unfriendly to
the last developer.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] [nlnpt] New Developers for Howards

Clay,

I find it incredibly ironic that you seem to be holding private meetings
with a prospective developer without inviting other neighborhood members
or letting everyone in the neighborhood know what you're doing ahead of
time, given your recent vilification of our neighborhood association
president for doing exactly the same thing.

I'm not surprised, just amused.

[nndl] Graffiti

Graffiti is a topic that has been brought up and hashed out by the
neighborhood association several times in recent years. We have had the
graffiti removal team come out and talk to us, and I've talked to
Officer Vargas about it on several occasions. Here is some of what I've
taken away from those conversations.

1. We don't have gangs. These are mostly kids who are acting like they
are in a gang -- mostly they are working alone.

[nndl] Re: [NNADL] After Endeavor

Dear Clay,

Actually, many of us did say "Oh no, Howard's is up for sale, what in the world
is going to be there?". Consequently, we were delighted, thrilled and
astonished that the buyer, Endeavor, came to talk to us.

Furthermore, the for sale sign at Howard's was not hidden - a good reason to
investigate to see if there was an NA to join, talk to, work with, etc.

If memory serves, the Howard family was also very pleased that the buyer was
