[nndl] Re: Help Watering your trees - What about Pecans ?

I am not an arborist, not do I play one on TV. I assume that watering
any tree should follow the same rules - away from the trunk, and 5 to 10
feet away, over the roots - - but, I do believe that the trees,
unlike humans, know what to do. NO water - well - they do know how to
adapt, especially the native trees - like pecans.

[nndl] Maybe we could invite an arborist or Travis County Ag person to our next meeting

[nndl] Watering trees

I've looked at a couple of WEB sites, including the Travis County Ag
site which speaks to the Oak trees, BUT - it does say to water away from
the base of the tree - 5 to 12 feet away from the base - this is where
the roots are closest to the surface - and drip the water. You can dig
some little holes - not too deep and let the hose run as well.
