Thanks, this is all very good advice. Let me point out that we've had
0.0 problems with any of the tenants living in any of these houses near
us with respect to noise, parties, or virtually anything else (I know
that not everyone has been this fortunate).

Re: [nndl] Code Enforcement

I think it has been pointed out before, but this is a pretty good
escalation path:

- Establish a relationship as early as possible with your new
neighbors. Once a relationship has been established, people are
somewhat less likely to become a nuisance. If you do have a
relationship, then it becomes a little easier to mention your concerns
to them.
- Failing that, escalate to the management company. Lee Properties and
Uptown Realty are active in our area.

Re: [nndl] Code Enforcement

Consider making a I-phone video or pics of the situation - submit it w/ the date to code enforcement and the council members that you especially supported - particularly as such issues relate to McDorms.  Invite one of their staff to come out and see what as school approoaches, will likely be a more common occurrance - invite them to work w/ you to develop solutions that are more effective and longer-lasting - like fining the owner of the property for repeat offenses.....Martha

5 out of the 6 properties I reported are Lee Properties, meaning managed
by Lee Properties. Although all 5 properties were built by the Lee's,
since then, they've sold all of them to out of town investors and are
now just raking in the management bucks. I could call Lee Properties,
but feel that -- since they're the management company -- then they
should be managing the properties, not me.

[nndl] Code Enforcement

Wow, I suddenly feel a great deal of sympathy for people who have been
complaining that COA code enforcement isn't doing a good job. A couple
of weeks ago I called to complain about huge piles of trash that have
been sitting in the street in front of the McDorms on my street for
weeks -- the smell was getting bad. A couple of piles got cleaned up,
but most didn't. In 2 cases, they just moved to stuff from the street
to just off the street.
