Billie Holiday tribute to mark 50th anniversary of death

The great Billie Holiday died of drug and alcohol related causes on July 17, 1959. To celebrate her life on the anniversary of her death, David Stevens and the Morris Nelms Quartet, featuring Alex Coke on sax, will play Lady Day songs at St.

David’s Episcopal Church (301 East 8th Street). Tickets are $25 in advance and benefit the St David’s Music Endowment and Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM).
